Castle Critters (Info for Grownups)

What is a Castle Critter?

Our Castle Critters are a group of cuddly reading buddies your child can borrow from the library for 1 week at a time using their library card. They are much better than elves on shelves and take much less work!

What if my child isn't reading yet?

If your child is just learning their letters and sight words, YOU can read to your child and their critter.

So how does this  it work?

  1. Check out a critter, their adventure binder, and enough books for you and your child to read for 20 minutes a day for one week. If you need help finding books, our staff are here to help.

  2. Make sure your child takes good care of their critter, their binder, and the books by keeping them away from pets, food, drinks, and messes.

  3. Help your child fill out one of the Critter Adventure Sheets.

  4. Have fun, take some pictures and email them to sdavis@wfplibrary.org or upload them to your favorite social site and tag us!
