How to Request Items Not Available in the Library

Step 1: Search for the Item 0:00

Go to the library catalog.

Use the keyword search to look for the item (e.g., "Mad Mabel").

If no results are found, try a title search.
Step 2: Suggest the Item for Purchase 0:34

If the item is not available, suggest that the library purchase it.

Ensure you are logged in

If not logged in, refer to our tutorial on how to sign in.
Step 3: Access the Suggestion Feature 0:52

Click on the hamburger menu on the left.

Select "Suggest an Item" from the menu.
Step 4: Fill Out the Suggestion Form 1:07

Enter the title (e.g., "Mad Mabel") and author (e.g., "Sally Hedges").

Choose the format (e.g., book, large print).

Optionally, add notes if you prefer a specific format (e.g., E audio for cloud library).
Step 5: Reserve the Item 1:51

Click on "Reserve Item" to indicate you want to be notified when it arrives.

Optionally, provide your phone number for text notifications.
Step 6: Submit Your Suggestion 2:13

Click the "Suggest" button to submit your request.

The library will review your suggestion and either order it or borrow it from another library.
